Sacro Monte Varese Italy

While I’m working and living in Italy, I want to see as much as possible that’s why I’m taking you to the north of Italy, Sacro Monte Varese Lombardia(English: Lombardy) there is a sacred holy mountain. It’s located at a height of 833 meters. On the way to the mountain, you have to drive a lot of turns which made me quite dizzy at arrival. At arrival, you see straight away a beautiful view over lake Varese.

I parked the car and started to walk in the direction the village on top of the mountain. It was a steep walk to the top. Again Italy’s landscape surprised me how beautiful and how much this country has to offer. In the village, I saw a couple of restaurants and one big chapel. Walking through the village I found a beautiful 4-star hotel only for adults.

I walked in for an aperitivo. An aperitivo in Italy is a tradition and it’s like pre-meal drinks. It’s a warm-up to dinner and you will find this everywhere anytime between 5 pm to 8 pm (depends region). After the entrance, you see the restaurant with a panoramic terrace. My aperitivo arrived and I enjoyed the sunset.

The walk to the car was easy because it’s was a downhill one. Once again I looked around me and I’m a lucky person to have such places around the town where I live. There is so much to see and there are never-ending amazing place. This sacred mountain is now off the list. I’ve ticked this box ready for the next box.
